John —
We want to fill you in on where things stand because you deserve total
transparency.
Here is the good news: We received a huge number of donations after Ken
Paxton became the nominee, and we're on track to hit the end-of-month
goals we set for this critical moment of the campaign. But just barely.
Here is the bad news: We are now seeing a dramatic slowdown in our
fundraising just as we're sure the fundraising and outside spending
planning is ramping up to defeat us. The timing is not great at all.

The blue bars represent money raised, while the purple line accounts for
how many donations we receive in a given day.
You can see the trend, John. A
huge spike after Paxton won the Republican primary, but then a dramatic
slowdown — and now it's going the wrong way.
That leaves us with two choices. We either need a lot more individual
donations or we need those who've given before to donate a larger amount
than their last contribution.
Normally, we ask people to give about $5 if they haven't donated before.
But given the timing, the trajectory, and our end-of-month fundraising
deadline right around the corner we're asking people to dig a bit deeper
than usual today.
[ [link removed] ]Can you please rush a $20 contribution to James Talarico's campaign
today? We will put it to work immediately to persuade undecided and
infrequent voters to pull the lever for James Talarico.
