Last night, I officially accepted the DFL Party endorsement for Secretary of State.

I’m honored, humbled, and energized by the support from delegates across Minnesota.

And this morning, I’m thinking about what comes next.

Because this campaign is about much more than one convention or one speech.

It’s about protecting the freedom to vote.
Defending democracy.
Standing up to disinformation, extremism, and efforts to undermine confidence in our elections.

That work has never been more important than it is right now.

Over the last several months, we’ve seen escalating attacks on our democratic institutions.

The DOJ demanded private voter data from states like Minnesota.

Election workers in Georgia were targeted with subpoenas tied to debunked conspiracy theories.

The Supreme Court weakened key protections in the Voting Rights Act.

And Donald Trump responded by openly calling for partisan map manipulation ahead of the midterms.

Through all of it, Minnesota has remained a national leader in democracy.

We continue to rank #1 in voter participation and election performance because we’ve built a system rooted in trust, transparency, and fairness.

But none of that happens automatically.

We have to defend it.
