Extremist Republicans are not targeting Marie because this race is symbolic.

This is one of the few districts in the country where a Democrat has proven she can win in Trump territory. That makes Marie dangerous to them. Not just politically, but as proof that Democrats can still earn trust in working-class, independent places when we actually show up and talk like normal people.

That’s why this race matters so much.
