John,
Our postal service is facing debt and extensive delays.
That's why I met with local postal unions and United States Postal Service (USPS) representatives to discuss the prioritization of workers, the countless people who rely on the USPS, and the upcoming elections.
With fewer than 80 days until Election Day, the USPS is warning voters to request ballots at least 15 days in advance and mail them at least a week before the election. Officials say Election Day is really October 20 for those who wish to vote by mail. With so much at stake, we can't leave anything to chance.
I'm asking, John: Will you check your voter registration status? We need to make sure we are ready to speak truth to power and vote on November 3 (or October 20 if you're voting by mail!)

Voting is one of the greatest powers we have. Congressman John Lewis knew this, and he dedicated his life to expanding access to the ballot box for all of us.
But this year, too many backward politicians are trying to capitalize on this pandemic to stop us from voting. They're going as far as gutting funding to the USPS, knowing Americans will rely on voting-by-mail during the pandemic.
It's insidious and undemocratic, and it's why we're fighting back. Please check your voter registration and make your plan to vote. We can't afford to sit this election out.
Thank you,
Dwight
