Friend, I have about 20 minutes of free time in my schedule today. I know that doesn’t sound like a lot of time, but with a schedule like mine, I can assure you it’s a gift.
And while I know you probably get a lot of emails like this, I want to take a few of these minutes to tell you about my commitment to this movement.
There’s no doubt that these are perilous, unprecedented times. Trump’s second term in the White House is proving to be the existential threat to our nation that I and many others knew it would be.
The cost of living is skyrocketing as Trump and the GOP make devastating cuts to healthcare, food assistance, and critical programs — all while lining their corrupt pockets and the pockets of their billionaire buddies.
International law has been thrown out the window, as Trump has illegally invaded Venezuela on behalf of his Big Oil donors, dragged us into an endless, needless war with Iran, and carried out depraved war crimes, from blowing up fishing boats in the Caribbean to murdering 170 students at a girls school.
Trump has overseen a nationwide reign of terror, using ICE as a personal, secret police force. People have been beaten, families separated, US citizens detained, held indefinitely, and even deported, peaceful protesters labeled “domestic terrorists”, and innocent folks shot dead in the streets.
And he has weaponized the Department of Justice, launching sham investigations into his opponents, including members of Congress, judges, journalists, Federal Reserve board members, top universities, state and local Democratic officials, and even ActBlue. Now he’s created a $1.8 billion slush fund to reward January 6th rioters.
The Project 2025 agenda is playing out before our eyes. I am committed to fighting back with everything I’ve got.
I’m committed to blocking Trump’s harmful agenda in the Senate, using every tool I have to shine a light on this administration’s corruption, and leading the fight to defend our democracy through protest, direct action, and organizing of all kinds.
