Board of Supervisors Adopts Resolution for the 2026 Primary Election

On May 20, my colleagues and I unanimously passed a resolution authorizing Vote Centers and Drop Box locations for the July 21, 2026 Primary Election.
Voters will have the option to cast their ballot at one of 237 Vote Centers located throughout the County on Election Day. In addition to these 237 Vote Centers, there will be 12 monitored Drop Boxes available for voters who wish to drop off their early ballot. Please click on the play button to hear more.

On May 20, 2026, Chairwoman Brophy-McGee and I sent a letter to Recorder Heap, inviting him and his staff to participate in a series of structured coordination meetings with Board leadership, County administration, the Elections Department, and Recorder’s Office personnel.
The purpose of these meetings is to improve communication, address operational concerns ahead of upcoming elections, strengthen transparency, and ensure voters continue to have confidence in the integrity of our election system.
As of May 29, we have not received a response from the Recorder. I remain committed to working collaboratively and professionally to ensure smooth, honest, and fair elections for all Maricopa County voters.

At my request, the Arizona Department of Transportation came to Sun City to hear from residents from Sun City, Sun City West, Surprise and Glendale. The purpose of the meeting was to help facilitate honest conversations about the transportation challenges that several West Valley cities are facing. Thank you to ADOT for helping us get a step closer to a more interconnected statewide transportation system.

El Mirage Outdoor Learning Facility

I recently joined the City of El Mirage and the Maricopa County Library District for a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the newly renovated El Mirage Library Outdoor Learning Center. This open-air ramada will be used for STEAM programming, multi-cultural programming, gardening classes, career days, and volunteer opportunities. I’m excited to see the impact that this space has on the local community.

Registration is now open for Maricopa County Reads, the countywide Summer Reading Program hosted by the Maricopa County Library District.
This year’s theme, "Unearth a Story", celebrates dinosaurs, prehistoric discoveries, and the thrill of exploration that reading inspires. Kids, teens, and adults can participate and earn points by reading, completing summer reading challenges, and discovering secret codes at library events.
Reading and activities can be tracked from June 1 – July 20 at org [ [link removed] ]. With 64 participating libraries and a community goal of 110 million minutes read, Maricopa County Reads is one of the county’s largest literacy initiatives.
