We agree with Joe Biden.

As we head into the fall -- and the start of cold and flu season -- the threat posed by COVID-19 will only grow.

There's an easy and inexpensive way to protect ourselves and our neighbors: just wear a mask. The Centre for Economic Policy Research finds that a mask mandate could have saved 40,000 lives in April and May. We'll never get those months back, but there's nothing stopping us from saving 40,000 or more people in the coming months.

Except, of course, for the GOP and their ruthless politicizing of commonsense public health guidelines.

We reject their partisan ploy. We need to save lives, not score political points. If you agree, denounce the misinformation spread by Republicans who will do anything -- even let millions of Americans catch COVID-19 -- to reelect Donald Trump. Stand up for science. Stand up for masks.
