When Tennessee Republicans redrew our maps earlier this month, they didn't just change the dynamics here in TN-07. They split Memphis into pieces and intentionally diluted Black voting power across the state.

They drew long, strange lines with one purpose: to make sure the people most likely to demand change have the least say in who represents them. And as you’ve likely seen over the past three weeks, they're running the same playbook in many Southern states.

This will not be a campaign to mince words. It’s a power grab to serve Donald Trump and his MAGA Republican Party. Plain and simple.

Here in CD-7, that power grab has a face: Matt Van Epps.

He's the Republican these new lines were drawn to protect — not to make him accountable to you, but to make sure he only needs to ever be accountable to his boss in D.C. So he never has to explain the hospitals closing, the rent climbing while hedge funds buy up whole neighborhoods, or the paycheck that covers a little less every single month.

A representative of the people should never be allowed to choose to remain in power. It must be earned.

I don’t know about you, but I’m not built to stay home. That isn’t how I was raised. And I don't believe you’re ready to stay home either.

A rigged map can protect a politician from a fair fight, it’s true. But it cannot and will not protect him from a district that organizes, registers to vote, and shows up to polling locations in force. That energy and determination to make a better life for ourselves is the one thing they can't redraw — and it's the thing your support builds, starting with this campaign right here in the 7th District.
