Barack Obama recently gave his thoughts on Trump's efforts to undermine the Postal Service: "What we've seen in a way that is unique to modern political history is a president who is explicit in trying to discourage people from voting. What we've never seen before is a president say, 'I'm going to try to actively kneecap the Postal Service to encourage voting and I will be explicit about the reason I'm doing it.'"

Barack Obama forcefully called out Donald Trump for the president's attempts to sabotage the USPS and steal the 2020 election.

Trump's Postmaster General, Louis DeJoy, has severely damaged the agency's ability to handle mail-in voting this fall -- something our shameless president bragged about in a recent interview: "Now, they need that money in order to have the Post Office work, so it can take all of these millions and millions of ballots. But if they don't get those items, that means you can't have universal mail-in voting because they're not equipped to have it."

The outcry from voters like you and politicians such as Obama eventually forced DeJoy to suspend changes to USPS until after the election, but that hasn't undone the damage that has already been done. DeJoy says he'll stop taking away mail sorting machines until after the election, but that doesn't return the machines he has already removed.

We must continue to remain united and vigilant. The GOP has millions in dark money funds ready to fight voting rights in court, intimidate voters of color at polling places, and spread misinformation about voter fraud. And Donald Trump will still find ways to damage the USPS and mail-in voting.
