I got off the debate stage about a few hours ago, and I wanted to write to you while it’s still fresh.
Here is what I want you to know: The next Democratic senator from Michigan’s first job is to beat Mike Rogers in November. [ [link removed] ]
I want to be honest with you about that, because the math is clear. Michigan is key in deciding whether the Senate is run by people who give a damn about working families – or by people who are going to rubber-stamp everything Donald Trump sends them.
There are no points for almost winning. There are no participation trophies in this battleground race. Democrats either win Michigan or we hand the Senate to MAGA Republicans.
I am running because I am the candidate who can win this race. And I am not just saying that – the polls are too.
I’m the Democrat who beats Mike Rogers in head-to-head polling. I’m the Democrat leading the entire primary field with Independents – the voters who actually decide Michigan elections each November. Even Republicans have called me their “toughest general election opponent.”
That is not bragging. That is the November math I’m talking about.
But here is the part that matters more: Michigan does not need a senator who is trying to go viral. Michigan needs a senator who gets sh*t done.
Michigan deserves a workhorse, not a showhorse.
That’s the choice: you can vote for virality or you can vote to win. [ [link removed] ]
I win.
Here’s my record: I helped save 200,000 Michigan auto jobs as Chief of Staff on President Obama’s Auto Rescue. I helped write and pass the CHIPS and Science Act, which is bringing semiconductor manufacturing back to American soil, and to Michigan. I was named the most effective Michigan Democrat in Congress because I show up, I do the work, and I get bills across the finish line.
I am not the only legislator running for this seat. But I am the most effective one.
And here is the part I want to say plainly, because a lot of public servants have forgotten the serve part of the job description: I am not in this to get rich. Or to be famous.
I’m not a millionaire and I did not go to Congress to set myself up. I went to Washington to deliver for Michigan’s working families – and now I’m asking you to send me to the Senate to keep doing that work. That is the only reason I am running. There is no other agenda. This is not a branding opportunity. I love Michigan and I will fight like hell for my home.
I will fight to lower the cost of prescription drugs, defend Medicare and Medicaid, and protect the science-based care our families and our seniors depend on. I will fight to bring down housing costs and rebuild the path to homeownership that used to be a basic part of the middle class. I will fight to invest in Michigan manufacturing. I will fight to make sure clean drinking water is treated as a right, not a privilege. I will fight for federal investment in the communities that have been waiting for far too long.
That is the work. That is the job. That’s what I am running to do.
Today on that stage, I felt more sure than ever that the Michiganders I love deserve a true fighter in the Senate. And I’d be honored to have you with me.
Friends, if you’re in a position to chip in before our end-of-month deadline, I’d be grateful. This is a grassroots campaign, so every dollar helps keep Michigan blue. [ [link removed] ]
But I want you to know – with or without your financial support – I am in this fight for you.
And I’m more fired up than ever.
With grit,
Haley
A personal note from Haley 👋

I’m a lifelong Michigander and the daughter of small-business owners. I’ve spent my career fighting for Michigan’s working families – and now I’m running for the U.S. Senate to keep standing up for the people I love.

But here’s the truth: Senate control could come down to Michigan. And Trump and his megadonors know it. That’s why they’re gearing up to spend tens of millions to defeat me and hand this seat to a MAGA Republican.

I need your help to fight back. This race will be one of the most competitive – and expensive – in the country, and I’m counting on grassroots support to win.

If you’re with me, will you chip in today?
