It’s Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

In Michigan, we’ve worked hard to protect the fundamental right to vote and make sure our elections are fair, secure, and trusted. I’ve seen firsthand how important it is to stand up for democracy and protect people’s faith in fair, secure elections.

But National Republicans have repeatedly targeted states like Michigan and Arizona with efforts that undermine trust in elections and make it harder to move forward together.

Just recently, Donald Trump suggested federalizing Michigan’s elections — a blatantly unconstitutional move. Any attempts to take away Michiganders’ constitutional right to vote won’t happen on my watch.

That’s one reason I’m reaching out about my friend, Governor Katie Hobbs.

Katie defended Arizona voters in 2020 as Secretary of State, and as governor, she has continued to stand up for secure, fair elections and the rule of law.

Now, she’s running for re-election against Andy Biggs, who has built his political brand around questioning election results and pushing changes to Arizona’s election system.
