Friend, I'm so excited after Kamala Harris's speech accepting the nomination for Vice President. Ever since she was announced as Joe Biden's running mate last week, I've been thinking about all of the young Black and South Asian girls in VA-10 who now -- finally -- have an opportunity to see someone who looks like them in the White House. And tonight, Senator Harris showed America that she has the empathy and moral courage to be a leader for our times.
As we mark the 100-year anniversary this week of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, it's a great moment to commit ourselves to making history in November -- and electing women up and down the ballot. It's also a time to remember that the 19th Amendment effectively only gave white women access to the ballot box, and that the fight for racial equality in our voting laws continues.
I hope you're as fired up as I am. Together, we can make 2020 a banner year for women in politics -- of all backgrounds.
If you're ready to go win, please split a donation between my campaign and the Biden-Harris ticket: [link removed]
Thanks so much,
Jennifer
