Dear Jack
Did you watch David Seymour’s speech in Parliament on Tuesday?
It’s been viewed more than 35,000 times and had Mike Hosking and
Peter Williams raving.
Here it is in case you missed it.
David forensically examined the many failures of the Government’s
Covid-19 response and explained ACT’s ‘Wellbeing Approach’ to fighting
the virus.
A Wellbeing Approach would consider all of the costs of Covid-19 in
a world where we can’t guarantee against outbreaks.
Being free of Covid-19 is just one dimension. We also need to
consider students’ life-defining exams, the mental health of small
business owners, missed elective surgeries, families who can’t travel
for funerals, the financial costs (a Level 3 lockdown in Auckland
costs $440 million a week), and the uncertainty.
In short, we need to ask how elimination can be made
affordable.
ACT will be launching its Wellbeing Approach to Covid-19 very soon.
Can
you help us tell New Zealanders about
it? Each dollar is another voter we can
reach.
Yours sincerely,
ACT Deputy Leader Brooke van Velden
