Friends,
We hope that you’re safe and secure during the derecho storm recovery. This is a trying time for all of us here in Northeast Iowa.
While our community is recovering and rebuilding -- as Iowans always do-- we know that there are still thousands of people without power, access to food or shelter.
Abby’s working closely with state and federal agencies, nonprofits, and local groups to ensure that every Iowan is protected. And she’s doing two things right now to help get vital information out to Iowans each and every day:
First, we launched a television ad with crucial resources for those impacted by the derecho. You can watch the ad, which began airing this morning, here.

Second, Abby is giving live, on-the-ground updates each and every day on Twitter. She’s sharing recovery efforts, breaking derecho news, and new resources available to Iowans. She also posts videos about the recovery efforts each night.

We know that some Iowans still without power won’t be able to access these resources, which is why Abby and our team have been on the ground trying to reach Iowans directly and get them the resources they need.
This recovery will take a community working alongside each other to rebuild, and we’re grateful to be a part of our recovery alongside you.
Stay strong,
Team Abby
