Hi there,

We’re in the most exciting period of the campaign — can you feel the energy in the air?

With just 76 days until Election Day, our campaign is working hard to mobilize voters across New Mexico. This will be a historic election, with the opportunity to elect the first Hispanic senator from New Mexico in more than 40 years, send the first all-woman of color delegation to Congress, and undo the damage of the last four years by winning back the White House.

There’s a lot at stake — and New Mexicans feel the urgency. Since our field program started, volunteers and team members have made 47,733 calls and sent 47,442 texts, and many supporters have downloaded the Reach app to safely canvass their friends and neighbors during this time of social distancing.

Dad shares a deeply personal health care story about Ben Ray’s father, who passed away from cancer in 2012. Ben Ray’s father was lucky to have insurance, but his battle with cancer is at the heart of our campaign’s fight for a better health care system.

Lifeline focuses on Ben Ray’s work to help one of New Mexico’s most beloved restaurants – Santa Fe Bite – secure a PPP loan and stay afloat during COVID-19.

Voices highlights Ben Ray’s deep ties to New Mexico and the priorities that he will focus on in the U.S. Senate.

ENDORSEMENT UPDATE

NEW MEXICO FEDERATION OF LABOR, AFL-CIO: On August 6, our campaign was honored to be endorsed by the New Mexico Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO, which represents labor unions and working people across New Mexico. As the son of a union ironworker, Ben Ray is deeply humbled to receive this endorsement, and looks forward to working with New Mexico’s labor community in the U.S. Senate. Learn more here.

UNIDOSUS ACTION FUND: On August 3, our campaign was endorsed by the UnidosUS Action Fund, a Latino advocacy organization that works to expand the influence and political power of the Latino community through civic engagement and issue-based campaigns. Ben Ray is running to be the first Hispanic senator in New Mexico in more than 40 years, and he is honored to earn the support of UnidosUS Action Fund. Learn more here.

SMART: On August 5, our campaign was endorsed by the SMART (International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers) Transportation Division Local 34. The SMART Transportation Division represents active and retired railroad, bus, and mass transit workers across New Mexico and Ben Ray is proud to have their support.

OUTREACH UPDATE

100 DAYS, 100 REASONS TO VOTE FOR BEN RAY: To mark 100 days until Election Day, our campaign collected a list of 100 reasons to vote for Ben Ray from people in each of New Mexico’s 33 counties. Read the full list here and share your own reason for supporting our campaign!

WRAPPING UP OUR 33-COUNTY ROAD TRIP: Ben Ray wrapped up his 33-county virtual road trip of New Mexico at the beginning of August (but if you missed our stop in your community, don’t worry — we’ll be back!) Read a summary of the road trip here.

CONSTITUENCY GROUPS: Over the last several weeks, our campaign has held virtual roundtables with our Health Care Workers for Ben, Women for Ben, and Veterans for Ben Constituency Groups. The next roundtable will feature our Educators for Ben — stay tuned for more information!
