Team, the president is trying to steal this election—and further sabotage our democracy—by crippling the U.S. Postal Service in the run-up to the November election, when we expect a record number of mail-in votes.

From removing letter collection boxes to destroying critical mail sorting machines, the president is doing everything he can to keep our votes from being counted. In doing so, he’s undermining a trusted institution that all of us depend on every day—especially in our rural communities—for our letters, our medications, and more. 

I will not stand idly by and allow the president, or anyone else, to undermine our votes in November. This week, the House returns to pass the Delivering for America Act, a bill I proudly cosponsored, to ensure our votes are counted and our voices are heard this election.

Voting is the fundamental right of every American and at the core of our democracy. I will not allow the president to make this process more difficult or less safe for any of us without a fight.
