Since we emailed about our mid-month fundraising goal on Monday, a lot has happened:

- Tom McClintock tweeted nonsense about teachers unions and schools, and more desperate attacks on Brynne.

- Our district is going through a terrible heatwave, rolling blackouts, and heightened wildfire risks (and an evergreen reminder that Tom McClintock previously voted against wildfire disaster relief for our district).

- Tom McClintock remained silent on reports of Russian bounties on US troops, even as new reports emerged that Iran felt empowered to engage in similar attacks.

- Decision Desk called our race one of the top 25 GOP held seats that could flip in November.

The choice is clear. Instead of a representative going after teachers, we need someone who will support them as they navigate entirely new learning environments.

We need a leader who will fight for the basic infrastructure investments and accountability we deserve to keep folks safe from nature's biggest disasters. The ravaging wildfires, the extreme heat, and the coronavirus pandemic do not care if you are a Republican or a Democrat -- so the leaders responsible for bringing about solutions shouldn't be fixated on partisan politics.
