I'm sure you've heard about President Trump's attacks on the United States Postal Service (USPS). You also might've seen that the postmaster general will soon testify before Congress. The situation is developing quickly, but I wanted to break down for you what we know so far.
Postmaster General Louis DeJoy promised he won't make any other operational changes until after the November election. But this is not enough. We need assurances that our mail system will remain strong and speedy -- and that can start by replacing the mail processing machines removed across the country.
Our postal service provides critical and life-saving services to millions of Americans every day. Postal workers deliver medications, Social Security checks, vote-by-mail ballots, and so much more -- they do it in the rain, snow, and even during a global pandemic.
We need leaders who will stand up for what matters -- including our postal service. But standing up for working families has made Andy a target of national Republicans. Will you rush support now to ensure we have the resources he needs to win in November?

Look, the USPS is enshrined in our constitution. Attacks on our postal service are attacks against our democracy. (And President Trump hasn't been shy about admitting his real reason for attacking the USPS: he doesn't want us to vote by mail.)
