Linda is a lifelong Californian and the daughter of Mexican immigrants who came to this country and built a life in Southern California. She grew up working class, put herself through UC Berkeley and UCLA Law, and spent years as a labor lawyer fighting for workers’ rights before she ran for office.
And right now, she is one of the loudest, most uncompromising voices in Congress speaking out against the Trump administration’s anti-immigrant agenda and ICE’s terror. She has refused to fund ICE's raids on her community. She has fought for real accountability measures, like body cameras, requirements that agents can't hide their identities behind masks, and more rigorous hiring standards.
She has never forgotten where she came from, never wavered from her values, and she shows up every day to fight for the people of her district.
