John, While the Democratic National Committee meets online, Our Revolution groups are on the ground in critical states like Florida electing down ballot progressives and building an enduring progressive future for our country. Yesterday, we achieved some BIG victories in Trump’s home state of Florida. Read below to learn more about the bench of progressives we mobilized to elect, then chip in to help us continue building the political revolution nationwide.
Our members mobilized to help Monique Worrell win a tight race against death penalty proponents and candidates backed by corporate law firms for Orange-Osceola County State Attorney. Endorsed by Bernie Sanders, her win is a part of our national strategy to elect progressive prosecutors and transform our broken criminal justice system.
Our members also propelled Eliseo Santana, who ran on a platform of reallocating law enforcement funds to community services, to victory in the Democratic primary for Pinellas County Sheriff. Santana will face off against a pro-Trump, Rick Scott appointed incumbent in November’s election, and he needs our continued support. We also helped political newcomer Jack Porter unseat the sitting establishment City Commissioner in a tough race. Alongside our members, Porter is ready to take on Tallahassee’s special interest machine to fight corruption in city hall. Chad Albritton is headed for a run off in November for Casselberry City Commissioner Seat #4 thanks to our GOTV efforts. Chad ran on a platform to implement the Green New Deal in his community because change always comes from the bottom-up! With Massachusetts’ elections around the corner, Our Revolution needs to expand our ground game to keep this progressive winning streak going. Donate now to help Our Revolution groups in Massachusetts build on the success we just had in Florida to help progressives like Alex Morse and Ed Markey win their primaries.
