First, Trump installed his hand-picked crony – major Trump campaign and GOP donor Louis DeJoy – as our postmaster general...
Then came the reports of extreme service cuts and slowdowns at the U.S. Postal Service – with worker hours slashed and mailboxes and sorting machines REMOVED – causing grave harm to Americans who depend on U.S. Mail for vital services and their livelihoods AND threatening the country's ability to conduct our election, in which a record number of voters will cast their ballots by mail because of the pandemic!
At the same time, the USPS as we know it is on the brink of collapse if it does not receive billions in desperately needed emergency funding and Trump came right out and said he wanted to BLOCK that funding in a corrupt attempt to steal the election by preventing successful mail-in voting!
OUTRAGEOUS.

We ALL depend on the U.S. Postal Service ... it's a true staple of the American Way and PFAW is fighting with everything we've got to:
hold Trump and DeJoy accountable,

ensure post offices are functioning at full capacity through and after the election, and
secure funding from Congress to ensure the survival of this critical American institution.
Saving the U.S. Postal Service is about protecting our democracy and the American lives and livelihoods that Trump is so eager to put in danger for his own corrupt, self-serving purposes.
And People For the American Way is uniquely suited for this fight.
As PFAW president Ben Jealous said in his recent email to members:
The Postal Service as an institution is core to the American Way. It’s a symbol of American triumph and progress that pre-dates the official founding of our Union. And it’s served as an important source of economic opportunity and a path to equity for communities that have been disenfranchised and discriminated against – both in the jobs it helps create and sustain and the access it provides to all Americans.
