I’m hopeful, friends. This week, at the Democratic National Convention, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will accept the Democratic nomination, the first time a Black woman will join a presidential ticket for a major party in our nation's history.

It truly reaffirms my faith in the American dream: that there is a place for every person to succeed no matter who they are or where they come from. It reaffirms my faith that we can defeat President Trump and restore decency and accountability to our government.

But with Election Day firmly in sight, we’ve reached a point where each and every one of us must ask: Will I do everything I can to elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to the White House and safeguard our House majority?

If you’re with me – if you feel that urgency in your soul – I want to be upfront with what we’re up against between now and Nov. 3:

Last month, President Trump had his best fundraising month ever, and his reelection campaign is now sitting on a war chest of more than $300 million and counting.

They are already using those resources to attack us here in Florida and dismantle our Democratic House majority: The RNC is targeting me personally and the Trump campaign just launched a national bus tour, with the very first stops here in Florida.

With the stakes so high and very little time to get back on track, a group of concerned donors has agreed to extend the TRIPLE MATCH for all gifts – but only until midnight tonight. President Trump has zeroed in on Florida, so we must do whatever it takes to fight back: Can I count on you to rush a donation of $5 or more now and have it TRIPLED to win in Florida and keep the House blue? What you decide now, friends, could determine the House majority and what a Biden-Harris administration could accomplish.

I have faith that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris can bring this home, friends – that they can win the battle for the soul of our nation. But their administration will need a strong Democratic House majority fighting for progress alongside them. And with all the money President Trump has at his disposal – and with FiveThirtyEight reporting that the GOP has a shot at the majority – I’m worried.

I’m worried about what will happen if there’s a GOP-controlled House that fights to dismantle the Affordable Care Act or stifle economic relief for Americans in the face of a pandemic. I’m worried about how many more mass shootings will plague our country under a GOP House majority that offers nothing but thoughts and prayers.

I’m sure you’re a little worried too, friends. But that means we fight twice as hard. That means we don’t give up. That means we keep fighting because there is no other choice.
