<[link removed]>The Postmaster general said they’ll postpone cuts to the USPS until after the election, all while Congress is considering handing the Pentagon another $30 billion. We can’t let them get away with trying to covertly defund one of our last remaining public goods!

Tell Congress we need to expand funding for the USPS and defund the Pentagon! <[link removed]>

<[link removed]>ACT NOW! <[link removed]>

Dear John,

Would you rather fund the US Post Office or hand the Pentagon another $30,000,000,000?

The United States Postal Service is one of the last remaining public goods in our society which provides, among other things, the infrastructure necessary to ensure that those in America who are allowed to vote can vote by mail during a global pandemic. The Postmaster general just announced they’d postpone cuts to the USPS until after the election. That’s unacceptable! Postponing these cuts means they're just trying to covertly defund one of our most cherished public services in our country. Meanwhile, Congress is refusing to extend funding for the USPS while seriously considering handing the Pentagon another $30 billion in the next COVID relief package. What kind of backwards priorities are these? Tell Congress to prioritize democracy and expand funding for the USPS NOW! <[link removed]>

Our election system is already rigged against poor people, people of color, people with criminal records, and others — we can’t let them simply postpone defunding the most reliable and safest voting tool during a global pandemic, too! This attack also represents a severe threat to the living standards of a large section of black workers and their families who have historically found stable, good paying jobs with the USPS.Tell Congress to expand funding for the USPS and Defund the Pentagon! <[link removed]>

Amidst this assault on our democracy, the Democratic National Convention is underway. Many of us have mixed feelings about the ticket and criticism of the platform. In the past few years, we’ve seen huge movements grow around Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, Palestinian rights, defunding the police and defunding the Pentagon, yet none of these are included in the DNC platform.

But that doesn’t mean we should despair; it means we have to redouble our efforts. We have to make our voices heard! What would you like to see in the first 100 days of the next administration? Let us know!

Here’s how you can join the conversation about what peacemakers would like the next administration to address in its first 100 days:

- Fill out one of our polls on <[link removed]>Facebook <[link removed]>, Twitter  <[link removed]>and  <[link removed]> <[link removed]>Instagram <[link removed]>, or Google Forms. <[link removed]>

- Watch us talk about these issues with experts on a pre-DNC webinar <[link removed]> tonight at 4:30PT/7:30ET.

<[link removed]>

Are you most concerned about one of the issues mentioned above? A plan for peace with Iran? A New Good Neighbor policy for Latin America and the Caribbean? A commitment to justice for Palestine? A proposal to address racial and economic injustice? A better response to the pandemic? Abolishing ICE and treating immigrants like human beings?

We’ll be addressing all of these and more in our pre-DNC webinar tonight at 4:30PT/7:30ET. RSVP here to receive the zoom link  <[link removed]>or watch live on our Youtube channel! <[link removed]>  CODEPINK campaigners and other experts will analyze the Democratic National Convention and the party platform. You’ll be able to hear from Phyllis Bennis of the Institute for Policy Studies, the Femininst Foreign Policy, and many more!

Although we may be disappointed with the Democratic ticket, we know that progressive change starts from below. Regardless of who wins in November, one thing is clear: the grassroots movement to connect  our many struggles will be as important as ever. <[link removed]>Join us in pressuring our representatives to expand funding for the USPS  <[link removed]>(even after the election) and for a discussion about the Democractic National Convention  <[link removed]>tonight at 4:30PT/7:30 ET!
