Jack,
For this week's Sustainer Sunday, we want you to meet Maybelin Garcia
Romero — a freelance communication designer from West Bend, mom to an
18-year-old who's about to vote in her first election, and one of the more
than 3,000 volunteers who keeps this campaign going.
She found Fran the way a lot of people do these days: scrolling on social.

I stumbled upon the Fran online algorithm after visiting the Madison State
Capitol with my 18-year-old daughter. There must've been a Reba McEntire
song in the air that day: "A single mom who works two jobs…" You get the
vibe.
After browsing Fran's website for a few minutes and reading her policy
plans for Wisconsin, I said, "Sign me up!" to volunteer for the grassroots
campaign.
What excited me about volunteering was the chance to be part of a
community that shows up and gives back to a resilient female leader who
inspires others to do better.
A stable income for a single mom with a bachelor's degree should not
require working multiple jobs to make ends meet. I feel seen by Fran's
plan to raise the minimum wage.
As a mom and auntie to two nephews, I want to see them grow up physically
and mentally healthy — and Fran's plan for universal childcare is why I
feel cared for and secure with her on our side.

Maybelin's story is Fran's story, and it's the same story for many
Wisconsinites who are working harder than ever and still coming up short.
A bachelor's degree and two jobs shouldn't add up to barely making rent.
Childcare shouldn't cost more than a mortgage. And the people fighting to
change that shouldn't have to do it alone.
That's why we're running a people-powered campaign to take back Wisconsin
and finally deliver for working-class people. And that's why we're asking
for your support.
