We wanted to make sure you saw Jared’s email from the other day, John.

The Heroes Act legislation has been sitting on Mitch McConnell’s desk for months. Instead of acting decisively to help struggling families, protect us from the virus, and boost our economy, the GOP is in full-on obstruction mode.

It would really help if we could hear what you think of this bill and if you believe it will help our current situation. Please take a minute to fill out our survey about the Heroes Act.

Thanks,
Team Huffman

John,

Almost three months ago, the House passed the Heroes Act, a comprehensive, $3 trillion bill designed to help struggling Americans through the worst health and economic crisis of our lifetime.

Since then, the Senate hasn't even brought the Heroes Act up for a vote, and Donald Trump and the Republican Senate have refused to negotiate. Trump just announced that a deal to extend unemployment benefits, prevent foreclosures, and save the Post Office is "not going to happen."

As Republicans continue to stall, our nation is on the brink. We have to defeat this virus, open our economy, and give Americans the help they need.

Democrats in Congress believe we need to do more. But I want to hear from you.

Will you take a moment to fill out this survey about various aspects of the Heroes Act? It’s important for me to know how you feel about the key provisions in this bill.

This historic legislation would continue the unemployment benefits that are keeping families afloat, protect people from eviction, bolster our ability to detect and treat COVID-19, and safeguard our elections. Not surprisingly, the GOP has resisted its passage every step of the way.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond and share your thoughts.

And rest assured, my colleagues and I will continue fighting in Congress to strengthen our economy, protect our citizens, and get this country back on track.

All the best,
