Dear John,

High Commissioner Grandi Stands with Lebanon

From day one, UNHCR has worked with rescue teams and humanitarian partners to help communities in Beirut – and now we are scaling up our response. With over 84,000 people identified as having been severely affected by the deadly explosion and in need of urgent support, UNHCR is providing shelter supplies, mattresses and other critical items. In addition, a dedicated helpline is being established to ensure that people who’ve suffered trauma and loss can get the caring support they need.
