The Census Bureau is being pressured by the White House to finish their 2020 Census count in less time than needed to complete a full count of every person living in the United States. Because of this, we face the possibility of having a massive undercount and risk losing federal funding for schools, roads, Medicare, Medicaid and other public services in communities around the country.
A shorter door-knocking time frame will seriously impact the most vulnerable and underserved communities if they are undercounted this year. The U.S. Census occurs only once a decade, so it’s vital we get an accurate count before the deadline. If you have not yet been counted, I urge you to visit my2020census.gov and complete the census today.
We need to work together for an accurate census count. We can help reduce the number of households census workers will have to visit by completing the form online and encouraging others to do the same. Regardless of legal status, if you live in the United States, it is constitutionally mandated that you are included in the count. Please don’t wait. Complete the U.S. Census now. You can also respond by phone or mail.
Results of the census will determine the number of representatives you will have working for you in Congress and at all levels of government. Friend, please take a moment and complete the census before it’s too late. It’s quick and easy, and communities nationwide are counting on it.
Thank you, Henry
