Labor Day is around the corner and soon I will be wrapping up a productive district work period and heading back to Washington to continue working on solutions to the many pressing issues our nation is facing.

This has been a challenging summer for many Americans, as we’ve mourned multiple mass shootings, witness an escalating humanitarian crisis at the border, and endure a barrage of racist tweets from the President.

But our country is ready for change and I am determined to continue my work in the House to be part of the solution.

Labor Day also traditionally kicks off the campaign season.  Over the past month, I traveled throughout the district and heard one underlying message from constituents:  in order to get anything done, we must strengthen our Democratic majority and defeat Trump in 2020.
