Folks – I need you to do me a favor:

Ignore the pundits. Do not read the public polling. The trends mean nothing.

Yes, President Trump’s approval ratings are at an all-time low and going down by the day.
Yes, Democrats are winning the Congressional ballot by 11 points.
And yes, historically speaking, the president’s party gets walloped in the midterms.

But no president has ever so blatantly ignored the will of the voters and instead attempted to stack the deck in his favor.

And frankly, Donald Trump has been alarmingly successful at it:

* The Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act, setting off even more hyper-partisan gerrymandering in Republican-controlled states.

* The President continues to double down on his long-debunked conspiracy theories about the 2020 election, leading the FBI to raid an election warehouse in the key swing state of Georgia and paving the way for further tampering in November.

* Donald Trump has raised billions of dollars for Republicans in the midterms – funded by billionaires and corporations who are profiting from Trump’s reckless agenda.

* And now the administration has launched a $1.8 BILLION taxpayer-funded slush fund for Trump’s supporters – with nothing stopping the administration from directly funneling resources to Trump–aligned dark money groups.

Put simply, despite the polls, despite the frustration and anger at this administration’s actions, Democrats are still facing an uphill battle to flip control of Congress. And more than ever before, we cannot take a single vote for granted.
