Asian Americans Advancing Justice | AAJC is hosting this new three-part webinar series focused on strategic communications best practices and ways to use press, social media, and communications tools to advance your work. In partnership with Charter Communications, a leading broadband connectivity company and cable operator known through its Spectrum brand, Advancing Justice | AAJC is hosting these trainings to support community-based organizations and community leaders in sharing their stories and raising the visibility of their work in the media and online.

Speakers:
  • Michelle Boykins is the Senior Director of Strategic Communications at Asian Americans Advancing Justice | AAJC. Michelle has more than twenty years as an experienced communications and marketing professional. She has secured major news coverage from CNN, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and The Washington Post and been interviewed or quoted in numerous media outlets from MSNBC and FOX television networks to NPR and CBS Radio, and various consumer magazines from Consumer Reports to Woman’s Day.
  • Mary Tablante is the Digital Strategies Manager at Asian Americans Advancing Justice | AAJC. In this role, she is responsible for creating and implementing digital advocacy strategy and campaigns to support the organization’s work. Mary comes with an impressive communications background as she has covered Asian American issues and stories as a freelance reporter and worked on social media outreach as a community manager for USA TODAY’s Your Take initiative.
  • Daniel Herrera is a Director at The Raben Group and manages communications strategies and tactics for many of Raben’s social justice and diversity-focused clients. Previously, Daniel served as communications director for the House Democratic Caucus under the chairmanship of Congressman Xavier Becerra, and as a policy analyst and communications specialist with the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF).
  • Michael Torra is Managing Principal at The Raben Group, where he served in its Washington, DC office for six years before returning to his home state in 2015 to lead Raben’s California team. Michael previously spent over a decade working for various Members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and working on electoral campaigns. At Raben, he helps foundations, nonprofit organizations, and corporations advance inclusion and social justice.
