Dear John,
Through exceptional times, finding solidarity with one another has been our greatest asset. One of OutRight's key engagement opportunities is our annual conference on the human rights of LGBTIQ people, OutSummit. In acknowledging the importance of keeping our community safe, OutSummit will be held virtually this year, from December 10-12!
We are so excited to share this space in a new setting, reaching an even wider audience around the world. Just like in years past, OutSummit will feature LGBTIQ+ advocates and allies discussing our movement's priorities and challenges. It's a space to reflect on the LGBTIQ organizing in the past year, strategize collectively, and frankly, to celebrate queer people!
This December, we will have sessions on Navigating Faith and Religion-Based Discrimination, Conversion Therapy, LGBTIQ Visibility in the Media, Gender Ideology, and much more. It's an amazing opportunity to understand current trends in the LGBTIQ movement and meet activists from around the world. In past years, we’ve heard from speakers such as Karamo Brown (Queer Eye), Joy Belmonte (Mayor of Quezon City, Philippines), and Menaka Guruswamy and Arundhati Katju (public interest litigators against Article 377A in India).
We can't be together in person, but we know that LGBTIQ issues are just as pressing now as they were one year ago. We hope you'll join us to learn, advocate, and connect at OutSummit 2020. Sessions will be held from 10 am-2 pm Eastern Time on December 10-12 with satellite sessions on December 9 and 10 from 10 pm-12 am Eastern Time.
