John, the special election in Virginia is still getting a lot of headlines, but here’s some great news you might’ve missed from that day:
The VOT Chapter at Hampton University, an HBCU known for its history of civic engagement, organized the first ever polling precinct on their campus, and it’s already making a huge difference.

Our incredible student members led an advocacy campaign, recruited poll workers, and made sure their peers were ready to vote in last month’s special election to fight back against the far right’s gerrymandering!
We were empowered like never before to make our voices heard, and we're just getting started. Because that's what it’s all about – getting disenfranchised young communities to the polls, regardless of what the extremists throw at us.
That’s what’s possible on just one campus, John.
Right now, VOT chapters across the country are leading campaigns just like this before the 2026 midterms, and we need adults like you to stand with us.
So please, can I count on you to chip in $27 so VOT can keep showing the far right what Gen Z is capable of, here in Virginia and across the whole country? >>
