FSC Condemns UN For Pro-Censorship Proclamation
Last week, two UN Special Rapporteurs issued a statement calling for the prosecution of adult platforms that host user-generated content, falsely claiming these platforms do not verify age or consent. Attacks on lawful adult platforms make sex workers less safe by pushing them away from regulated spaces with established safety practices. TAKE IT DOWN Act Provisions Come Into Effect
The TAKE IT DOWN Act’s notice-and-removal requirements took effect May 19, requiring covered platforms to establish a process for users to report nonconsensual intimate imagery, including AI-generated deepfakes. Platforms must remove reported content within 48 hours of receiving a valid request and make reasonable efforts to remove identical copies.
