Joe Biden has announced that Senator Kamala Harris will be his running mate and selection for future Vice President. 

Senator Harris attended a historically Black college. She is a first-generation American with immigrant parents. She is the first woman of color to run on a major party ticket. She has pursued justice in the legal system and in the Congressional Black Caucus. I am honored to support a candidate who reflects the stories of so many Americans whose stories often go unheard.

The 2020 Democratic presidential ticket represents how far this nation has come — and how far we can go when we come together. It is time to make history.

I am proud to be on the Democratic ballot with Biden and Harris, and I am excited to work with them in Congress on health care, voting rights, and education.
