John, Shevrin Jones just declared victory in his race for the Florida state Senate! He’s officially on track to make LGBTQ history as Florida’s first openly LGBTQ state Senator.

This race was not easy for Shevrin to win. To make history, he had to defeat two known bigots at the ballot box. But he’s not the only one taking on bigots this cycle – will you make a celebration donation to boost Shevrin and all our candidates?

Thanks to his hard work and Victory Fund’s amazing grassroots community, Shevrin beat one candidate who ran on a “Families First” platform and another who claimed: “The gay people have their rights. I have my rights.” In the final days of the campaign, homophobic text messages were sent to voters slandering Shevrin and a fake robocall implied President Obama endorsed his opponent.

But Shevrin sent these two bigots packing! We must keep the momentum going – chip in to help celebrate Shevrin’s victory and beat more bigots today!
