Hi friends,

I’m Madison — you might not know me, but you might know my dad, Stephen. Raising me as a single father, my dad taught me that girls are strong and independent. I’ve always looked up to trailblazing Texas women like Ann Richards, Barbara Jordan, and of course Beyoncé.

That’s why I’m excited to mark the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment and women’s constitutional right to vote. Today we reflect on what women can achieve when they use their voices to create meaningful change for themselves — and for their communities.

100 years ago, brave women showed us what was possible when we stand together and fight hard for what is right. Today, women like Kamala Harris are still blazing trails for the next generation. I’m excited to work with my dad — and with all y’all — to build a stronger, more just, and more equitable future for Texas and our country.
