If we want a Green New Deal with teeth, we need governors who support it instead of dragging their feet. Unfortunately, fossil fuel corporations and wealthy CEOs are pouring resources into these races to make sure that we never take action that cuts into their profits. The only answer to that is people power.
On Wednesday night, People’s Action is partnering with New Hampshire Youth Movement to phone bank for Green New Deal champion Andru Volinsky, candidate for governor in New Hampshire. Andru has won the endorsement of a wide range of climate justice groups because he supports urgent action to stop fossil fuel companies from wrecking the climate, and he’s the only candidate for the Democratic nomination who opposed the Granite Bridge Pipeline for fracked natural gas.
