Yesterday, I said: “We will win this battle.” Today, we did.

I was proud to stand with Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal, King County Executive Dow Constantine and State Rep. Gael Tarleton in defense of the Postal Service – and every Washingtonian’s right to vote.

President Trump might have his political cronies like Postmaster DeJoy tasked with undermining the Postal Service. But that’s no match for the countless people across our state who raised their voices and demanded justice and fair access to the ballot box this November.

Today, Postmaster DeJoy announced that changes made to the Postal Service will be postponed until after the election. We won this battle.

But our work is just beginning.

I pledge to you that, as your Lieutenant Governor, I will always fight to protect every single Washingtonian’s right to vote

Later this week, I’m traveling back to Washington, D.C. to ensure that the Congress properly funds the Postal Service. We must undo the damage that the President has inflicted on this vital institution during the pandemic—and we’ll make sure Postmaster DeJoy keeps his word.

Thanks to you, we’ve made it clear that Washington state will not sit idly as President Trump transparently attempts to suppress millions of Americans’ right to vote.

This November, let’s finish the job. Will you join me?
