Today is the centennial anniversary of the 19th Amendment and women getting the right to vote! On this day 100 years ago, Tennessee became the 36th state to ratify, securing enough states to adopt the 19th Amendment. The right to vote is essential to our democracy, but the 19th Amendment didn't secure the right to vote for everyone in 1920, and still today, there are obstacles impeding Americans' access to the ballot box. Lizzie is committed to fighting for the fundamental voting rights of all Houstonians today and every day.

The Humane Society Legislative Fund endorsed Lizzie! Like so many of us on #TeamLizzie, Lizzie is an animal lover and proud to have earned a 100% on the Humane Society Legislative Fund's Humane Scorecard. We are gearing up for our August Week of Action, which will take place next week. If you want to make calls, send texts, write postcards, and spend time with fun people you can sign up here!
Of course, many people are watching the Democratic National Convention this week, and it is a well-timed reminder of how important our work is and how important it is to support candidates that will bring us together. We need to be unified to win big in November. And we can't do that with you!
