I’m honestly shocked.
We turned this week’s Democratic National Convention into a fully virtual event because we refuse to play games with people’s health during a global pandemic.
Meanwhile, as deaths rise, Trump and his team are showing us exactly how big a joke he thinks the suffering of Americans is – just yesterday, Trump held a dangerous and irresponsible rally in Oshkosh, Wisconsin and tomorrow, Mike Pence is coming.
Trump’s rally in defiance of the Wisconsin mask mandate and social distancing guidelines is a slap in the face to the Wisconsinites suffering in this pandemic. We need leadership that doesn’t treat Americans’ suffering as a joke. We’re going to defeat Trump and we’re going to do it by gathering virtually, organizing safely, and lifting every voice. Now, Pence is getting ready to visit Wisconsin this week – showing yet again that the Trump administration will always put their political interests above the health of the American people.
Wisconsin will make or break this election – we know Trump won’t give up here without a strong fight.
As we fight the biggest political battle we’ve ever faced, in the midst of a terrible pandemic, the crushing economic freeze, the chaos of schools, the searing brutality of racism and racial disparities, and incredulous voter suppression, Trump and Pence are only adding fuel to the fire.
