OK, John, I have a dilemma.
✋ On the one hand, I want to share my campaign’s latest finance report with you because it’s really, really impressive.
🤚 On the other hand, I don’t want to give the impression that we can just pack up our fundraising operations and coast through the rest of this election.
You’re the reason we’re in this strong financial position, so it’s only fair that we lay our cards on the table. Just don’t hold it against us, K? 🤝
💰 $9.6M raised in 2026, more than 3x the previous record for the same period 🗺️ Donors from all 99 Iowa counties 👥 49,300+ donations from 26,800+ individuals 💵 95% of contributions were $100 or less 🇺🇸 Democrats, Republicans, and independents all contributing 🍎 Teachers were the #1 donor group (1,200+), followed by healthcare workers (1,100+)
Look, I know telling you how well Team Sand is doing and then asking you to chip in right after isn’t the best look, but you’d be surprised how quickly money flies out the door between multiple TV ads across several markets, events, travel, operations, HQ expenses, printing fees, and the list goes on…and on…and on.
Also, we can’t forget that my opponents are in the trenches of a brutal five-way primary while I’m already the Democratic nominee. Come June, however, the winner will turn ALL his firepower directly against us.
The next few weeks represent our last chance to shape the rest of this campaign and the future of Iowa. I’m going to bite the bullet and ask that you contribute whatever you can to make sure we can start the general election on unshakeable footing. And I do mean anything: $1, $5, $10…
Thank you, John, for everything. We’d never be here without you. 🫵
