The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.

100 years ago today, those words were ratified into the United States Constitution as the 19th amendment. It was a huge step forward for equality - but despite the promise of suffrage, women of color were still unable to exercise that right for many more years.

The story of America is one of constantly expanding inclusion, and our work is far from over. Today as we honor the centennial of the ratification of the 19th amendment, we must also recommit to protecting the right to vote for every single American - regardless of race, religion, or physical location.

I hope you’ll join me in this important work.

Thanks - more soon.
