Folks,

For 245 years, rain, snow, sleet, and hail haven’t stopped the U.S. mail.

But our United States Postal Service has never faced sabotage like this before!

As I’m sure you’ve heard, President Trump is blocking desperately-needed funding for the USPS — and now our postal service is on the brink of collapse.

The Trump administration has made it clear from the beginning that they’d like to see the Postal Service fail into a privatized system, despite the fact that more than half of Mississippians live in rural areas. They depend on the USPS's "last mile" delivery to get life-saving prescriptions, bills, packages — and of course, ballots. For incarcerated people and Mississippians in assisted living facilities, the USPS is a vital lifeline.

As a result, the USPS has remained drastically underfunded, causing staff shortages, delivery delays, and more for months.

Now, as summer comes to an end with no Postal Service funding in sight, the crisis is becoming even more severe. Over the weekend, citizens across the country reported postal boxes removed from neighborhoods for low “mail volume.” Meanwhile, the President claimed on national TV that vote-by-mail isn’t safe or reliable.

Let’s be clear about what is really going on, folks. This is voter suppression! The Trump administration has launched a blatant attempt at suppressing the vote by attacking the United States Postal Service.

Folks, we can’t wait to take action. Please, sign my petition to tell the Trump administration to stop his attacks on the United States Postal Service.
