John,

We work better when we work together. This week I was reminded of all the ways our community pulls together to achieve great things. Our community hosted New England's largest blood drive, the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church came together to host another fantastic Greekfest, we helped ICNA Relief deliver school supplies to students in need, and we welcomed a new group of AmeriCorps VISTAs who are ready to work across the Granite State to strengthen communities. There is always work to be done, but in Manchester we are taking on the challenges we face through collaboration and hard work.

Thank you for your continued support!

Best,

Joyce

ICNA Relief School Supply Drive

On Saturday morning, I joined ICNA Relief handing out backpacks to students getting ready to go back to school. Their shirts say it all, "Education is Power," and in Manchester we're working to give our students the best education to empower them.

GreekFest

I always love going to Greekfest at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. It is wonderful to see this community pull together to make this event a reality every year! I hope everyone got a chance to enjoy the festival last weekend.

Canvassing in Ward 5

I loved canvassing my grandparents old neighborhood in ward 5 last weekend, and knocking on the door of the house where my dad and his 3 brothers grew up.

Welcoming Principals & Vice Principals

It was an honor to welcome back Manchester School District principals and vice-principals on Monday morning! Throughout the year, I am constantly hearing about selfless acts of leadership displayed by our educational leaders. There is no doubt in my mind that we have the best principals and vice principals around. Thank you to SNHU School of Education for hosting -- and I hope everyone has a great school year!

Gail Singer Memorial Blood Drive

I donated to the Gail Singer Memorial Blood Drive on Tuesday (and recruited first-time donor The Morning Show with Peter White). At the end of the summer, donations are sometimes harder to come by, and the Gail Singer Memorial Blood Drive was the perfect time to help someone in need. I'd like to thank the American Red Cross - New Hampshire and the Singer Family for their work in leading America's largest community blood drive.

Westside Organizing House Party

Thanks to everyone who joined us for our westside organizing house party Tuesday night. We're building a team across the city that is ready to do the work to continue building a stronger Manchester.

AmeriCorps VISTA Welcome

On Wednesday, I had the opportunity to welcome NH's newest AmeriCorps VISTAs to Manchester! I want to thank all VISTAs for dedicating themselves to helping communities across the Granite State and wish everyone a wonderful year of service.

Letter: Support for Craig

To the Editor: Manchester is a better place because of Joyce Craig. The roads are better, the parks look great and she has a hotline for potholes.
