Dear John,
NVAHA is pleased to share the Northern Virginia Eviction Prevention & Housing Stability Toolkit, a resource for decision-makers and community leaders working to reduce the incidence of evictions due to COVID-related job loss and the pandemic health crisis. Our goal is to shed light on what is being done to stabilize communities in Northern Virginia, and where gaps in eviction prevention efforts remain.
The Toolkit was developed in collaboration with Legal Services of Northern Virginia (LSNV). Participants representing local government agencies, property owners, human service providers and the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development made invaluable contributions to this resource, and we thank them.
This document has been formatted in a way that provides information on topics that can be used as stand-alone pieces, such as Navigating the Eviction Process During Covid-19 (also available in Spanish) or Best Practices for Local Jurisdictions.
A digital version of the toolkit is available as part of a larger collection of COVID-related resources on the NVAHA website. Additional COVID-related legal resources – in English and Spanish - are available on the LSNV website.
NVAHA will continue meeting with participants in the eviction coalition to support this regional collaborative, updating the Toolkit data as strategies are refined. We encourage you to share this resource with community volunteers, human service providers, property owners and policymakers.
Let’s use this tool to share best practices, learn from each other to support vulnerable residents, and work to stabilize our communities in Northern Virginia.
