Dear John,
The value of clean water is priceless, especially as sources of clean water are becoming more scarce worldwide. We are lucky in Minnesota to have an abundance of lakes and rivers, but a proposed sulfide-ore copper mine threatens the clean water legacy of Minnesota's Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.

This week the Boundary Waters Action Fund (the political arm of the Campaign to Save the Boundary Waters) released a new report [[link removed]] presenting the threats that sulfide-ore copper mining poses to Minnesota's clean waters.
Highlighted are the histories of similar sulfide-ore copper mines leaking, research showing the dangers to fish and other endangered species, and a detailed report of the “irreparable harm” that the Twin Metals Mine would pose to the Boundary Waters.

This is where we need your help.
The pristine waters of the Boundary Waters are priceless, and that they shouldn’t be used as a dump for toxic chemicals and runoff.
There are three ways to take action today to defend our clean waters:

1. Sign the pledge: [link removed], and pledge to vote for Boundary Waters champions, and if you already have, invite five friends to do the same!

2. Spread the word – share the fact sheet here: [link removed], to your social media pages and tell your community why protecting the BWCA is important to you.

3. Donate here: [link removed]. Even a donation of $10 helps us defend the Boundary Waters.

For the Wilderness,
