Hello - in November 2019, Kentucky made history and elected a Democratic Governor: Andy Beshear.
And last week, after leading one of the best responses in the country to the coronavirus pandemic, Governor Beshear signed an executive order to expand voting access this November.
Beshear's order is being hailed as one of the best examples in the entire country of how to expand voting access during the pandemic. It allows universal vote-by-mail requests.
It allows three weeks of early in-person voting - compared to just 12 hours of voting previously. It creates boxes across the entire state for voters to drop their ballots. It allows voters to mail their ballots as late as Election Day. And in an unprecedented win for voting rights, if your mail-in ballot is rejected for any reason (a missing signature, etc), you must be notified and offered a chance to fix the issue.
Here's the problem: After seeing these new expanded ways Kentuckians will be able to vote, Mitch McConnell is now helping Donald Trump try to sabotage the United States Postal Service - denying critical funding needed to ensure everyone can safely and securely vote this November.
It's no secret why. For months, Amy McGrath has been rising in the polls. We've been out-raising and out-spending him for over a year. And with your grassroots support, we've made Mitch McConnell more vulnerable than he's ever been in 36 years. We've got Mitch running scared, but now he's stooping as low as to try to sabotage the USPS to win reelection.
We need to raise another $125,000 before our emergency response deadline to fight back and help Amy McGrath win this November, but we're still falling dangerously short during this critical moment.
The only way we'll hit our goal and win is if grassroots donors like you give right now: Please, will you chip in $5 or more right now - every dollar you can afford to spare - so we can fight back against McConnell's dirty trick, help Amy McGrath defeat Mitch McConnell this November, and take back the Senate?
