1) Incomes Growing a Lot Faster Under Trump Than Biden
Real wages have taken a big hit as a result of the Iran conflict and the higher oil price. But as our UP income tracker and the figure below show, income gains are up under Trump in his first 16 months of his second term, compared to steep losses under Biden. We’re confident that when the oil price falls back to below $80 a barrel, incomes and affordability will rise again!
A chart, "Real Wages — Biden vs. Trump 47."

2) Driverless Cars Could Save 30,000 Lives a Year
What a paradox: The public resistance to AI is growing at roughly the same rate that the hard evidence is showing spectacularly health benefits and lives saved from AI's every day applications.
Here's the latest. Doctors from around the country are rallying around the rapid adoption of automated vehicles (AVs) because of the dramatic reduction in car accidents and serious injuries.
A 2025 peer-reviewed study ([link removed]) , which examined more than 50 million fully driverless miles on public roads, has found 80% reductions in crashes compared with human drivers on the same streets.

This data comes from Waymo, which admittedly has a clear bias because they operate the AVs. But it's well established that nearly 90% of accidents are due to driver error and increasingly drivers texting while their car swerves all over the road.
Around 40,000 Americans die on the roads each year. More than 2 million Americans suffer "serious injuries.”
New York, Massachusetts, Washington, Minnesota and Washington, D.C., have laws blocking robotaxis in their states - mostly at the behest of the taxi lobby.
The author of the letter, Dr. Jonathan Slotkin, the chief medical officer at Geisinger Health System in Pennsylvania, explains his underlying motivation: "I'm a neurosurgeon that practices and frequently have blood on my hand from car crashes, including of children."

3) Guess Who’s Funding the Revolt Against AI and Data Centers?
Yep, it’s China.
New evidence shows they’re funding much of the propaganda campaign with bogus claims about water, noise, cancer, high utility bills, etc. This chart below follows the money trail to multiple foreign billionaires and the Chinese government that are bankrolling the grassroots fury, whether the frontline activists know it or not.
The scary thing is this campaign of lies and half-truths may help China win the race for AI and tech dominance.

4) Why Is Josh Hawley Carrying Water for Union Bosses?
Reason rings the alarm bell:
A Hawley-backed bill, known as the Faster Labor Contracts Act (FLCA), seems to be picking up steam and may soon pass the House of Representatives...
The FLCA is designed to expedite the process of labor negotiations once a union is recognized in a workplace. Unions often claim that businesses purposely drag their feet in such negotiations, and the bill would seek to remedy this by requiring contract negotiations to commence within 10 days of a collective bargaining request from a newly-recognized union. The parties would then have 90 days to negotiate--followed by 30 days of mediation--before the issue would be punted to government-mandated arbitration...
This government-mandated arbitration panel would then have the power to impose contract terms on the business and union involved. In other words, the give-and-take of labor contract negotiations would be taken out of the hands of private entities such as businesses and unions and placed into the hands of a government-mandated panel.
This would let union bosses refuse to budge in negotiations and punt to a friendly mediator to impose contract terms. This is absolute madness from an allegedly conservative Republican.

5) 11 of Top 12 Fastest Growing Cities Are in Red Southern States
According to new Census Bureau news releases, between 2024 and 2025 (July 1), the red southern cities are still experiencing the most rapid growth spurts.
Florida and Texas cities saw the biggest gains.
We would note that Seattle was the only city in a blue state to crack the top 12.
But then it was a no-income-tax-state. Now it has the 6th highest tax rate. We can nearly guarantee you when the 2026 numbers come out, Seattle will be one of the large cities that lose population.
