Friends, before I speak at the Convention tonight, let me tell you why I'm so proud to support my friend Joe Biden, and why I hope you'll chip in $5 or whatever you can afford to help make him the next President of the United States.

It's not because I've known Joe for so long -- it's because I know Joe so well.

I know that in this time of crisis for our democracy, our country desperately needs a leader like Joe Biden. We need a President who is ready on day one to begin the hard work of putting back together the pieces of what Donald Trump has smashed apart. And I know from experience: that's Joe.

Joe Biden can repair our relationships with our allies, and stand up to the strongmen on the global stage who threaten our safety and security.

Joe Biden can navigate the COVID-19 crisis, and elevate the voices of scientists, public health experts, and first responders.
