John xxxxxx - young people powerfully made their voices heard over the last few days ‐ and the incompetent Government has been forced into a screeching U-turn on exam results.

While this is a victory for frustrated students and their families - it didn't have to be this way.

The Government should have spent the summer implementing a plan to reopen schools in a few weeks. Instead, they wasted days on this fiasco. And it's just the latest in a string of incompetent blunders.

At a time of national emergency, this is no way to run a country. Take a look:

The Government was too slow into lockdown, too slow to protect our care homes and too slow to provide our key workers with protective equipment.

We were promised a 'world beating' testing system, but what we have is not good enough. We were told children would be back at school for a month before the summer, but that didn't happen.

Together, we will keep fighting for the change that Britain so desperately needs and deserves.

Thank you,

Keir Starmer
Leader of the Labour Party

Tomorrow at 5pm we're hosting an online rally for students and young people. If you know anyone who has been hurt by the A-level fiasco, why not invite them to join the call and hear from Labour campaigners about how we continue to hold this government to account:
